Sergio Tacchini was born in 1942 into a family of tailors in Northern Italy. His passion for fashion design began at a young age, and he went on to study at the prestigious Istituto d'Arte di Novara. After graduation, Tacchini launched his eponymous label and quickly gained a following among the European jet set. His clean, classic designs were a refreshing contrast to the flashy discothèque style that was popular at the time. In the 1980s, Tacchini's tennis apparel became known worldwide thanks to endorsement deals with some of the biggest names in the sport, including Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, and Martina Navratilova. Today, Tacchini is still designing sophisticated sportswear for both men and women. His timeless style remains popular with athletes and fashionistas alike.
